Automatic and manual inspection in EyeC ProofRunner Sheetfed
- The EyeC ProofRunner software in the printing process
  In this chapter, the user is introduced to the fundamental steps of the print inspection with the EyeC ProofRunner system. The EyeC ProofRunner software allows for automatic as well as manual operation. The automatic mode, by which the software responds to signals from the control system of the print machine, is the standard mode of operation. A manual operation of the software is only necessary when there is no signal from the control system of the print machine is available. The following figure shows how the software integrates into the printing process. In the main part of the manual, both the automatic inspection process and the manual process are described step by step.

    In the inspection screen the user can switch between different views to monitor and/or adjust the actual inspection. The general user interface layout can be divided into 5 parts.

Approving the reference sheet

If no suspicious areas are found or all suspicious areas have been evaluated as good and the good sheet is approved as the reference sheet, then the EyeC ProofRunner software shows the reference sheet with all marked and inspected ups.
Areas marked in blue on the reference sheet are in the defined inspection mask area that is excluded from the inspection. The margins of the ups are marked by yellow lines.
If suspicious areas are found, then the inspection mask may have to be confirmed manually.
