Automatic and manual inspection in EyeC ProofRunner Sheetfed
- The EyeC ProofRunner software in the printing process
  In this chapter, the user is introduced to the fundamental steps of the print inspection with the EyeC ProofRunner system. The EyeC ProofRunner software allows for automatic as well as manual operation. The automatic mode, by which the software responds to signals from the control system of the print machine, is the standard mode of operation. A manual operation of the software is only necessary when there is no signal from the control system of the print machine is available. The following figure shows how the software integrates into the printing process. In the main part of the manual, both the automatic inspection process and the manual process are described step by step. EyeC ProofRunner Sheetfed systems use 2 modes. This manual describes the iX mode. iX stands for instant examination.

The following buttons and menu items are relevant for the inspection process. When applicable, corresponding shortcuts are listed.

	Previous suspicious area	Navigates to the previous suspicious area.	[Left arrow]
	Next suspicious area	Navigates to the next suspicious area, even if the previous one has not been graded.	[Right arrow]
	Inspection pause	Stops the inspection or starts again from pause mode.
	Stop inspection / create report...	Opens a dialog that offers options of stopping the inspection and creating different types of reports. Alternatively, this is done automatically by a new set-up of the machine.	[Ctrl]+[F]
	End inspection and return to acquisition screen	Ends the inspection and returns to the acquisition screen. Alternatively, this is done automatically by a new set-up of the machine.

NOTICE

Image of suspect-repeat not available

The EyeC ProofRunner software saves only a defined number of repeat images. Once that number is exceeded, older images are deleted. Therefore, if a high number of suspicious areas is found, previously inspected repeats can not be displayed any more. In this case, the message “Image of suspect-repeat not available” is displayed and the detected suspicious areas are displayed on the scanned reference sheet.
