Learning phase of the inspection process

Once the inspection has been started the EyeC ProofRunner software starts with the learning phase by default. Learning (or adapting) is an important phase of inspection.

Before the inspection begins, a sample of cartons is analyzed to determine the acceptable deviation from the template.

This prevents non-critical deviations (for example, minor color register shifts) from being continually marked as defects. Significant deviations are not taken into consideration.

In the learning phase an adjustable number of repeats is automatically selected as training data.

Learning works with:

  • Normal defects
  • Peak defects
  • Warnings

Learning does not influence all other defect detection types. For example, it does not influence homogeneous area defect detection.
