Cleaning

Use the following suitable cleaners:

Aqueous, neutral, or slightly alkaline cleaners without additives

Do not use the following cleaners:

  • Alkaline detergents (for example, curd soap)
  • Lyes (for example, sanitary cleaners)
  • Acids (for example, hydrochlorid acid, vinegar, lemon)
  • Degreasing agents (for example, acetone, methylene chloride, trichloroethylene, gasolines)
  • Cleaners containing a high amount of ammonia (for example, sanitary cleaners)
  • Solvents (for example, ethanol, isopropanol, alcohol, hexane)
  • Cleaners with abrasives
  • Cleaners containing chlorine
  • Coarse detergents (for example, abrasives, steel wool, coarse cleaning materials, blades, cloth with interwoven metallic threads or hard cloths, microfiber cloth)

Scanner

Clean the outer case with a cloth dampened with mild detergent and water.

Glass surface of the scanner

Before the cleaning, remove coarse dirt carefully. Wipe the glass surface gently with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use generic glass cleaner sprays. Do not use solvents, coarse detergents, or other unsuitable cleaners. See the list of suitable cleaners in this chapter.

Monitor

Wipe the monitor gently with a soft, dry cloth. If any marks remain, moisten the cloth with LCD cleaner (free from acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia or methyl chloride)
