Verifying the Braille height measurement

The following prerequisites must be met:

  • Depending on the background color of the scanner, the file OQ EyeC Braille Target Verification Template White Version2.0.pdf or the file OQ EyeC Braille Target Verification Template Black Version2.0.pdf, is available.

  • The EyeC Braille Target Version 2.0 out of synthentic material is available.

  • The height measurement protocol of the EyeC Braille Target Version2.0 is available.

  • The serial numbers on the height measurement protocol and the EyeC Braille Target Version2.0 are identical.

  • The EyeC Braille Target Version 2.0 is not expired, yet (see the height measurement protocol).

  1. Start the EyeC Proofiler system PC and the scanner. Log in using the Operator account or an account with the same rights.
  2. Start the EyeC Proofiler software and select the parameter set Braille validation.
  3. Depending on the background color of the scanner lid, choose 1 of the following. Ensure that the respective PDF is correctly separated into Artwork, Braille, and Cutline.
    • Load the file OQ EyeC Braille Target Verification Template White Version 2.0.pdf as the template.

    • Load the file OQ EyeC Braille Target Verification Template Black Version 2.0.pdf as the template.

  4. Place the EyeC Braille Target Version2.0 in the upper left corner of the scanner. Place the target as parallel as possible to the sides of the scanner.
  5. Click on Scan report. Wait until the scan is finished. If necessary, adjust the sample image to face the same direction as the template using the Rotate buttons.
  6. Click on Start examination.
  7. Open the Braille tab and select the first row by clicking on the first (leftmost) region on the progress bar. Compare the average height of the first row as given in the High measurement protocol (A) with the Average height value given in the last column of the Point statistics (B) of the EyeC Proofiler.
